Take the game apart.
Build a new one.
Living Tool is the modding workbench for Guardian's Crusade. Open the hidden file system on your own disc, change anything from a line of dialogue to a whole new town, and share it as one small patch.

Built on a 100% matching decomp, with round trips to the tools modders already use and a door for your own AI agents.
A workbench made from the game itself. Every format it reads was traced in the decomp, so it edits files the way the game loads them.
Read-only by design
Your dump is checked against Redump and never written. Builds start from a fresh copy.
Built on the decomp
All 1,196 functions match retail, so every format comes from the code that loads it.
Live in the emulator
Push edits into a running PCSX-Redux, then warp straight to the chunk you changed.
Open the hidden disc
A normal ISO tool sees two files. Living Tool reads the 493-entry table hidden inside them, so every model, texture, song, movie and map opens by name.
Read about file formats

The hidden table, with caps and aliases.
Every toy and townsperson in real 3D.
STR movies, XA voices and every song.
Build new places
Lay out a town from a library of props, houses and house parts, paint the ground under it, then open it as a new area past the end of the disc, with doors and townsfolk.
Read about the chunk format

Harvest, place and arrange in 3D.
Paint, raise, flatten and ramp tiles.
Past the disc, with doors and NPCs.
Direct every scene
Play any of the game's 115 cutscenes right in the app, then change them line by line. Right-click to add dialogue, flags or a walk path, and Living Tool writes the bytes.
Read about event opcodes

Every field scene, played natively.
Dialogue, flags, warps and walk paths.
320 flags named from the game's scripts.
Rewrite every line
Edit dialogue against an in-game preview that counts every character, and retune toys, enemies, items, shops and encounters from forms that know each field.
Read about text control codes

Box-accurate preview and fit counts.
Toys, enemies, items, shops, encounters.
Change the fights the story starts.
Bring your own assets
Models from Blender, textures from any paint app, songs from a MIDI file, movies from a folder of frames. Each is encoded the way the game expects and checked against its budget before it's written.
Read about importersOBJ or glTF in, poses kept or neutral.
MIDI into song cues, WAV into banks.
PNG frames and a WAV, encoded to STR.
Make a game of your own
Take the retail story out in one step and a new game starts in an empty house. Build on retail, or on a base like HackerGC that moves the engine's limits.
Build, test and share
Plan where each change lands and write a verified, bootable image. Push edits into a running PCSX-Redux and warp straight to them, then share one small BPS patch.

Dry run: in place, relocated or blocked.
Push edits, set flags and warp to them.
Share your changes, never the game data.
Bring your own agent
Turn on AI agents in Settings and Claude Code, Claude Desktop or any MCP client can read the disc and work on your project. Its 33 tools call the same code as the screens, so every edit is staged, revertible and shows up in the app as it happens.
claude mcp add --transport http living-tool http://127.0.0.1:7811/mcpDone. Draken has 8 PP, build #5 is verified, and you're standing at the inn door in the emulator. Walk in to reach the new town.
